Stretch-ing across the East River!
Wylie Dufresne, recently honored at the Top 100 Pizza event, is taking Stretch to the outer boroughs!
Just over a year after opening on Park Avenue South, Stretch Pizza heads east to Williamsburg as reported by Eater. It’s a welcome addition to the Williamsburg pizza scene, which is beginning to rival the West Village’s mecca status. Stretch joins Williamsburg Pizza, Best Pizza, Fini, a Joe’s branch, Leo, Ace’s and other all star pizza joints.
If you haven’t been to the OG Stretch, definitely check it out. The chef-owner Wylie Dufresne comes from the world of fine dining (and recently starred in the newest Bear season), but opened this restaurant so people could “come once a week, rather than once a year.”
We here are thrilled for his new spot in BK - close to Domino Park - and can’t wait to see what else he chefs up with the crew there!
Can’t wait to see the new design and menu offerings.
Today Stretch sits on lovely Park Avenue South and boasts a collection of Scott Wiener’s pizza boxes on display!
The menu is incredible - with some classic NY staples like the plain pie and the pepperoni square, as well as some more novel takes like the Ploughman (a take on the English ham and cheese plate).
The pepperoni square is soaring - with light cheese drizzled on top!
While these pics are over a year old, I still think about them regularly. And I owe the new Stretch a visit - as do you, dear reader!
Tell ‘em Bob sent ya!
