Frank Prisinzano can't stop!
The same year 'Frank' turned 25, restaurateur Frank Prisinzano launches multiple new ventures in Chelsea and Capri!
On a cool summer night last year, I met Frank. He was celebrating, and for good reason. His baby, the eponymous Frank restaurant in the East Village, turned 25! Since Frank opened, several other Prisinzano productions have popped up across lower Manhattan: Lil Frankieās, Supper, Daddies.
Despite the success of his restaurants and highly active insta feed (join 198k+ of us, itās a worthwhile follow), heās very down to earth. When I met him, he was so gracious. When we wrapped our brief chat, he just said in his raspy, New York voice, āSit down. Iām gonna bury ya.ā
Dish after dish came out. Some we ordered, some we didnāt. It was fantastic, indulging in homestyle Italian as our wiry host buzzed around greeting patrons and posing with his fans for pictures. Unfortunately they donāt have a pizza oven at Frank ādeliciously simple Neapolitan pies pop out of woodfired ovens at Daddies and Lil Frankiesā but the meatballs were just what the doctor ordered.
So, with all the fanfare, what does he do since then? Proceeds to open several new restaurants, renovate a palace in the Amalfi Coast, continue EVOO production! No time at the beach. Frank Thomas, a steak focused restaurant, is currently under renovation in West Chelsea, and the updates are streamed live from Frankās socials (if you like woodworking, you have to follow along). The more exciting one, for us at least, is his newest pizzeria Francuccio, located on the island of Capri, slated to open later this year.
You canāt visit Francuccio on Bobās Pizza Tour (yet!), but we are very excited nonetheless. Congrats Frank! See you in Capri!
